Our Staff
An important aspect of compassionate care is the strong relationships we build with our patients and their families. Unlike
other doctor-patient relationships, our entire team of care providers works closely with patients, often several times per
week, over the course of many month or even years. We come to know one another personally, and enjoy seeing old friends
come to visit.
When you visit us at the Batte Cancer Center, we want you to feel like you are visiting old friends too. Below are some of the

Our Clerical Staff
Our warm and friendly clerical staff are often the first point of contact, from answering your phone calls to scheduling
appointments and welcoming you when you arrive. If you have any questions about future appointments, or need to
reschedule, just ask one of our clerical staff to assist you.

Supportive Care Staff
Our support services staff is comprised of two advanced practice nurses, the Breast Nurse Navigator and Community
Outreach & Education Nurse, a Rejuvenation Center Image Consultant who is a licensed cosmetologist, a Support
Services Coordinator, a masters-level Social Worker, and an oncology-specialized Registered Dietitian. These ladies
provide services and patient support beyond regular cancer treatment to round out our offerings as a comprehensive
cancer center, healing the whole person while fighting the cancer.

Our Clinical Research Team
Our clinical research team is composed of dedicated, highly specialized research nurses and a data assistant. These
team members work with our physicians in offering some of the latest NCI, cooperative group, and industry trials for
those patients who wish to participate in this specialized area of treatment.

Our Pharmacy Staff
Our pharmacy staff are highly trained in pharmaceutical mixing and dispensing for oncology treatment. Skilled Pharmacy
technicians and Registered Pharmacists prepare prescription medications to your physician's specifications. Usually, one
of our pharmacists can be seen in the treatment area, where they are available to answer patient's questions
pertaining to their chemotherapy treatment regiment.

Our Clinical Staff
Our clinical staff has specialized training and years of experience in Cancer treatment. The majority of our nurses are
certified oncology nurses. Working in collaboration with the physicians, our registered nurses and certified medical office
assistants care for patients with warmth and compassion. Our staff also includes medical technicians and a phlebotomist
in our laboratory area.

Our Cancer Registry Staff
Our Cancer Registry staff dedicate their careers to research-tracking data to improve the lives of those diagnosed with
cancer, now and in the future. The data collected by the registry is used by our physicians to better understand cancer
prevalence in the community and identify which services best meet patient needs. This information is combined with that
from other around the country in comprehensive data bases including the National Cancer Database, maintained by the
American College of Surgeons, and the (SEER) program of the National Cancer Institute, among others.

Our Albemarle Staff
The staff at our Albemarle clinic includes a Registered Pharmacist, three oncology Registered Nurses, a certified medical
office assistant, and two clerical staff.
All have many years of experience in their respective areas. This highly-skilled and compassionate team works closely
with one another to provide our Stanly County patients and their families with the high-tech, kindhearted care they so
deserve.

Our Volunteers
The Batte Cancer Center is most grateful to our volunteers, for we could not do our work without them. These ladies
and gentlemen give generously of their time to help patients and families find their way in the medical center and
provide many other services with great care and compassion.
